Car Servicing – The right service at the right time

Servicing your car is a necessity to keep long term costs at bay. An annual service, depending on mileage, keeps your car healthy and reduces the risk of important parts seizing up and breaking. However, if we find that your car does not need a full service or we think that a smaller service will be enough to suffice, we'll tell you.

At Miles Garage we never do anything to your car that is not necessary. We are experienced honest, straightforward and always put our customers first. That's why we've been here longer than most of our competition put together!

Full or part service?

If your car is over three years old it requires an annual MOT test by law. The MOT test is concerned with vehicle safety at the time of the test. Your car might pass the MOT but still be overdue for a replacement part related to performance.

While it's here it makes a lot of sense to have it serviced or at least checked over it at the same time. But not all cars have a similar life between MOTs each year. Some are low mileage, garaged and driven with care. Others are work horses. High mileage, heavy usage, parked on the street and constantly stopping and starting.

The difference in wear and tear can be significant. We'll check over all the usual service items of course. But we'll also take into account the type of life you car has and recommend the correct part accordingly.

The difference in wear and tear can be significant from vehicle to vehicle. We'll check over all the usual service items of course. But we'll also take into account the type of life you car has and recommend the correct part accordingly.

We'll advise on the expected remaining life of components also and what to do for the best. Tyres for example can be perfectly legal but not wearing evenly across the width which means we'd be best to check your wheel alignment.

Regular servicing is the main difference between a car that performs well for many years and one that is constantly developing irritating faults as it ages. It will also identify potential issues in the early stages and before they become a major headache, costing thousands to repair as the damage continues unchecked.

Most models can be serviced same day following the MOT, ready for collection during the afternoon.
